Description:
Surgical Applications The H-30 Laser System and holmium laser fibers are intended for use in surgical procedures using open, laparoscopic and endoscopic incision, excision, resection, ablation, vaporization, coagulation and hemostasis of soft tissue.
Urology: Open and endoscopic surgery (incision, excision, resection, ablation, vaporization, coagulation and hemostasis) including:
- Urethral strictures
- Bladder neck incisions (BNI)
- Ablation and resection of bladder tumors, urethral tumors and ureteral tumors
- Endoscopic fragmentation of urethral, ureteral, bladder and renal calculi
- Treatment of distal impacted fragments of steinstrasse when wire guide cannot be passed
Core technical features
- Laser type: Holmium:YAG (pulsed)
- Nominal power class: 30 W (product designation HL-30B)
- Wavelength: ~2,100 nm (strong water absorption; effective in fluid environments)
- Adjustable pulse energy/frequency settings to optimize fragmentation vs. coagulation (typical clinical range: low-joule/high-frequency for dusting, higher-joule/lower-frequency for fragmentation)
- Fiber delivery: compatible with a range of flexible silica fibers (common core diameters 200–1000 µm)
- User interface: intuitive controls for power, pulse settings, and preset modes
- Delivery hardware: handpiece/fiber port, footswitch control, integrated cooling and monitoring systems
- Mobile configuration: cart- or tabletop-mounted form factor suitable for endoscopy suites and ORs
Performance and user advantages
- Effective in fluid-filled endoscopic fields due to strong water absorption
- Precise tissue interaction with limited penetration depth → controlled ablation and minimal collateral thermal injury
- Versatile lithotripsy modes (fragmentation and dusting) via energy/frequency adjustment
- Compatible with flexible endoscopes when using appropriate fibers
- Integrated safety/monitoring features for reliable clinical use
Safety and operational considerations
- Requires appropriate laser safety measures: certified eyewear for staff, controlled laser area, signage, and trained operator
- Use smoke/surgical plume evacuation where indicated
- Verify fiber integrity and proper connection before activation; avoid direct contact of fiber tip with unintended tissue or reflective surfaces
- Follow manufacturer maintenance and service schedules for calibration, cooling system checks and routine inspections
